Our Marketing team is looking for a talented Digital Designer with a high-degree of familiarity working in low-code design environments — ideally Webflow. The ideal candidate is a cross-functional designer who loves building a brand and can bring strong design fundamentals to the development of multi-medium digital collateral (i.e. microsites, ad creative, social content, etc.).
Reporting to the Managing Director & PGL of Communications, the Digital Designer will bring creative ideas to complement strong design fundamentals and a cross-platform skill set (i.e. graphic and collateral design, Microsoft Template master development, social and web asset development).
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys bringing a corporate brand to life and is comfortable both leading creative ideation and working collaboratively with a team to bring design projects to fruition. This role will mainly focus on Sussex Strategy Group’s own marketing and brand initiatives. They may be called on sometimes to support client work.
We are looking for someone who will be a positive contributor to the team – someone who takes their work seriously but themselves a bit less so, a strong communicator who can equally share their thoughts and listen to feedback, and someone who can thrive in a collaborative, deadline-driven, hybrid office environment.
Ways You Can Contribute
- Design digital creative (social posts, infographics, etc.) mainly to support the firm’s own marketing and storytelling.
- Design both print and digital marketing collateral (presentations, reports, leave-behinds, etc.) to bring the Sussex brand to life across an annual marketing cycle.
- Own and further refine brand identity and accompanying style guides, master template development, collateral, and campaign assets across all platforms.
- Work with Sussex practice groups and admin to support internal Sussex branding and marketing initiatives supporting new business development and bringing the refreshed Sussex Strategy brand to life.
- Support the ongoing management and further enhancements to our Sussex Strategy website.
Who You Are
- Minimum 4 years of experience working as part of a design team, ideally in an agency environment.
- Experience (and desire to) develop websites using Webflow.
- Experience with front-end website design is considered an asset.
- Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and standard Microsoft & Apple Creative Applications (PowerPoint master development, word template development).
- Video-Editing (Adobe Premiere) or After Effects and/or Animation experience.
- Experience with cloud-based creative applications (like Sketch or Figma) and high comfortability with vector-based design.
- Strong understanding of HTML/CSS concepts including styling, flex boxes, and grid systems.
- Ability to ideate and apply a diverse range of creative styles and concepts.
- Ability to work both independently on creative projects and ideation and interpret and execute design feedback as part of the internal design and communications team.
- Ability to articulate design rationale and present design or brand concepts to both internal teams and clients.
- Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset: Animation, 3D Graphic Design, Print Design, Digital Video Editing/Production
