The Telegraph (Commercial Design & Development team) is in need of a Webflow-focused Visual Developer to create strategic story driven creative experiences for application across The Telegraph’s multi-platform digital channels. including long-reads, AMP stories and other formats, ensuring all work produced is of the highest quality.
Looking for a first or second step in your career, you will need a strong set of development skills, alongside either visual and UX skills, or a keen interest in developing these. Ability to communicate mideas clearly and succinctly is a must, and you will be adept in delivering best-in-class design work in a fast-moving agency environment. You will have strong attention to detail with a passion for innovative design, and an ambition to bring exciting creative ideas to life. You will also need to be resilient and a self-starter, with strong teamwork and collaborative skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and produce digital campaign components such as bespoke long-read articles and other innovative, story-driven formats that require custom development work
- Continually review and refine creative output to improve overall campaign performance
- Take ownership of your work and be responsible for the quality and punctuality from initial stage all the way through to final production and delivery
- Attend internal meetings to capture any creative requirements and wider campaign objectives
- Collaborate with fellow team members as well as colleagues from other areas of the business to ensure timely product deployment
- Stay abreast of emerging design/development trends and culture to help form new product ideas and strategies
Required Skills and Experience
- A standout portfolio showcasing a range of Webflow development work
- Some knowledge of the Webflow community and popular libraries/technologies and products that plug into the platform e.g. Relume, Formly
- Knowledge of digital design trends and web technologies, limitations and best practice delivery methods
- Solid and demonstrable understanding of responsive design
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator
- Proficiency in core web development languages, specifically HTML, CSS and Javascript. Javascript libraries such as GSAP are a huge bonus
- Experience implementing analytics, custom event tracking and other data metrics
- Good understanding of general design principles including typography, colour theory and layout
- Proactive, enthusiastic, with excellent time management skills
- Ability to take on constructive criticism and use this to enhance deliverables
- Desirable if experienced in UI prototyping tools within Figma
